Zeb didn't respond. Dr. Müller asked again, "Herr Zeb, are you awake? You must be in the lab in the next 30 minutes."
Still no response from Zeb. He then heard Müller leave. Zeb was terrified. He didn't know what to do, so he decided to go in the direction of the lab. On his way there, he saw a strange creature that looked like a monster.
Zeb heard a voice in his head say, "you're going in the wrong direction."
Zeb listened to the voice again and realized it was a telepathic communication from the creature walking toward Zeb.
As the creature came closer, Zeb could tell this wasn't a Hybrid; this was a seven-foot-tall foot tall Reptilian. Zeb stopped in his tracks and was frozen with fear.
Zeb thought, why is this creature telling me I'm going in the wrong direction when I'm trying to get to the lab?
The creature walked up to Zeb and said, "Are you going in the wrong direction?"
Zeb was so frightened that he couldn't speak, but somehow, he found his voice and replied, "Yes!"
The creature said, "Good. Follow me. I will take you to the lab." Zeb was relieved and followed the creature through a door and down a hall.
Zeb was led into the lab, where he saw several scientists working on Hybrid subjects.
The creature turned to Zeb and said, "This is where you will work. You have a special project to complete."
Zeb was escorted further into the lab and saw Hybrid children in cages. The creature began showing Zeb his instructions for a secret project.
Zeb told the creature, "I am expected in the lab with Dr. Müller. I shouldn't be here."
The Reptilian creature replied, "Very good; you passed the first test." Zeb was perplexed. "What test?" Zeb asked.
In walked Dr. Müller. "You were being tested to see if the mind control of the Serpent People could control you. We were hoping that the iPortq receptor would block the frequency that controls human thoughts, and it does!" said Dr. Müller.
Dr. Müller formally introduced, Kra'ak'ar, the Reptilian, who was working in counterintelligence for the SSF. Kra'ak'ar was also a general in the Sinedar Armada, which was not part of the lineage going back to Sarpedon.
The Sinedar line was a positive frequency race of Reptilians. They were helping humans in the fight against control by the Serpent people.
Kra'ak'ar told Zeb, "We need to bring you for a short visit to our ship!"
iPortq transported them to the Sinedar mother ship, the largest in the Armada, parked above the earth’s atmosphere. They were escorted to a special room onboard the ship, where Kra'ak'ar introduced Zeb to Sinedar Emperor Likur of the Sinedar Empire.
Emperor Likur welcomed Zeb and said, "Zeb, we have been picking up your frequency, and we know you were trying to activate the iPortq so you could return to your time in 2080. I want you to know something that might shock you."
The Emperor continued, "You don't need the device!" Zeb looked stunned, "What do you mean?" Zeb asked.
The Emperor explained, “you have the iPortq receptor embedded in your brain, you only have to believe and focus your intention on the time and place, and you will be transported without the device. You are the only human ever to have this ability."
Zeb thought for a minute and asked, "If that's true, your Majesty, then I could go back right now, correct?"
Emperor Likur looked at Zeb with a deep stare and said, "I am taking a risk in revealing that secret, but I believe that you realize that your mission is so critical that you will not abandon the human race."
Zeb responded, "Your Majesty, I am humbled by your graciousness. I will not fail you."
"Now," Emperor Likur said, "I have a gift for you from the People of Planet Zi. It will be of help to you on your mission."
Emperor Likur stood up and walked to a cabinet. He opened the doors and revealed a large glass case. Inside was a weapon that looked like it had been fashioned from some type of crystal.
The object was slightly longer than a foot and curved like a half circle. The case stood on its own, with no visible support. On the left side of the case was a tiny keypad.
Zeb looked at the case and said, "This is a remarkable weapon. I would be honored to accept this gift." Emperor Likur smiled. "I am pleased that you like it.
Our race does not practice violence, but we know your mission is dangerous, and you may need this weapon."
Zeb said, "Thank you for this gift."
Zeb turned to leave and saw Kra'ak'ar waiting to take Zeb back down to the base.
When they were out of earshot, he said, "I have one more question for you. Are you the only one who knows that I don’t need the device to time travel?"
Emperor Likur looked at him and said, "No. There is another human that knows, and he will reveal himself at the appropriate time."
